Hi Everyone! Welcome to Chameleon Crafters!

So who are we? Well, we are two sisters, Cara (right) and Hannah (left), wanting to start a new online business specialising in colourful and unique amigurumi crochet kits and pattern writing.

Our obsession with crochet comes from a love of all things crafty. Our Mum is very arty and as children we were surrounded by yards of fabric, balls of yarn and tins full of buttons! Our Nanny worked in a fabric remnant shop and then a yarn shop, which we used to visit frequently, so really there was no escaping it! However, it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I (Cara) decided to have a go at crochet and using online video tutorials.

I taught myself. It soon became an important part of my self-help, living with bipolar.

I taught my sister Hannah, who was going through a very difficult time with depression, I hoped it might give her a bit of a boost or at the very least help her relax. Amazingly it did and more amazingly Hannah turned out to be a natural and soon after we were both whipping up amigurumi animals and dolls, blankets and homewares. The more we practised the more we learnt, the online crafting community is incredibly friendly so there was always people kind enough to help if we were stuck on a project. It wasn't long before I decided that I wanted to write my own amigurumi patterns, ones that I had had trouble finding, something unique and fun to make. Having spent many years watching wildlife documentaries (Sir David Attenborough is our number 1 hero!) I remembered how much we enjoyed the weird and wonderful animals that were shown. That was that.... quirky, amigurumi, animals. Hannah loved the idea and came aboard! And so Chameleon Crafters was born and our mission is to introduce everyone to some colourful, crocheted, fun. After all Craftiness is Happiness :)

As we are a new business we are trying to raise some funds through Crowdfunder. We are looking for small donations to help with our initial set up costs and in return there are some great, handmade rewards. We are really, really grateful for any support you can give.
